Auesome Place is a warm and happy family. Every morning, at a specific time, all participating members sit in a circle, which helps to make peers focus on listening, speaking and observation in a limited area. It is also more conducive to improving efficiency and cultivating concentration. We design the unique circle time according to the characteristics of children and their interests, which enables everyone to participate and gather together to communicate and learn. After this period of time, companions can enhance their emotions to each other. For Auesomers, it is a special and important moment for emotional communication, sharing and interaction. It seems to be a simple and repetitive process, but it gives each family member different meanings. During this period of time, children gradually meet their needs of emotional and knowledge learning, which is undoubtedly a good time to be close to each other like family.
In the morning, the first ray of sunshine leaps into the room of Auesome Place through the gap between the branches, as if it means that on this new day, we were all ready to join the expected time track. We cherish the arrival of this moment and realize with our hearts that we have this beautiful and warm picture because we are together.
When we greet each family with ease and kindness, it is the first chapter of children's social activities. Auesomers know that communicating with partners is the first step to step out of their comfort zones in a big environment. Adapting and greeting people freely can make children more willing and happier to integrate into society and make more friends from the bottom of their hearts. In this atmosphere, family members wake up all the information in the calendar with a clear and orderly voice. Next, with different interesting topics every day, we take rich and colorful forms to communicate and interact with family members.
On the theme of “magical topic”: we made the content design close to the theme activities for various exploration and knowledge disclosure. When we carried out plant themed activities, we launched the world’s most plant exploration, which was rich in content and aroused children’s strong desire to explore. Auesomers gained more knowledge in the field of science and developed a strong interest in other disciplines. During the kaleidoscope activity, we launched the exploration of microscope imaging, which triggered everyone's strong desire to explore! The active participation, bold speculation and active sharing of peers is undoubtedly an outstanding embodiment of their thinking process and a good beginning of our learning state.
In the “creative movement”, we chose some activities with strong rhythm for warm-up. And we used some small games with high participation to mobilize children’s enthusiasm and remind children to enhance their concentration. For example, in the “dice game”, different action instructions were written on each side, and everyone rolled dice in turn and completed the action instructions; We also used scarves, sandbags, shape props and other equipment in all kinds of interactive games. Every member had the opportunity to participate in it. In the process of participation, they experienced and expanded various creative actions to enhance their physical coordination and the development of big sports. In addition, everyone has realized the importance of mutual cooperation and the fun of joint completion. At the same time, we affirmed and encouraged each Auesomer, and the children also encouraged each other when they saw that their peers complete tasks, which made them more motivated to learn from each other.
“Traveling around the world” is almost everyone’s dream! In the morning circle, we enjoyed the fun of traveling. In the “fun facts”, we explored the customs and traditions of various countries and felt the refreshing feeling brought by the cultures from different countries. The children were proud to travel in their own countries, and Auesomers were excited to travel to their partners’ countries, planting the seeds of realizing their wishes and expectations in the future. During the trips, we took adventures on the rivers of different history and cultures. The knowledge points and information are enough to spark the dreams of the children. This fun would be our endless and valuable experience... This journey was the enlightenment of Auesomers’ love for the world. This journey would make children fall in love with this beautiful world. Our embrace with Auesomers also includes “life mathematics”. In this section, through different ways and various games, children get familiar with the concept of number from number sense games to operation, from time to sorting, from color to classification... It cultivates children’s operation, observation, and language expression abilities. Based on the concept of number, children experience the application of number through practical activities so as to perceive the significance of mathematics. We cite facts in life to help children practice and consolidate their knowledge repeatedly, which is undoubtedly close to life. In mathematics activities, we can further feel the close relationship and application between mathematics and life, and realize that mathematics is everywhere in life.
Circle time is an effective teaching method for children. Because children like an organized and structured life, it is important to cycle time at a specific place every day. Our goals are to provide students with predictable and structured daily experience, create easy-to-use materials and strengthen the theme of cycle time so that non-verbal students can fully participate, use visual aids to provide opportunities for common attention, combining music and sports, which will improve attention, learning, language and structure around circle time routines, provide children with a consistent language, help them build their vocabulary and promote the use of functional language, raise social awareness so that children can recognize their peers, help children get familiar with the year, month, day, date and weather, and improve students’ endurance of sitting together for a long time.
